Litany for Letting the Light of Christ Shine
When we work to build peace…
We are the light of the world
By working for justice,
We are the light of the world
By acting with love,
We are the light of the world
When we work to be inclusive…
We are the light of the world
By building a community where everyone belongs,
We are the light of the world
By living as one body in Christ, where everyone is valued,
We are the light of the world
When we show our noble nature…
We are the light of the world
By being compassionate with one another,
We are the light of the world
By living as God’s children with reverence for one another,
We are the light of the world
When we strive be kind…
We are the light of the world
By loving others as God loves them
We are the light of the world
By loving one another as Jesus has loved us
We are the light of the world

Lighting of three candles
I light this light in the name of our Creator God With whom it all started
From whom all things come
Without whom nothing was given life
I light this light in the name of our Saving God Who came to us as one of us
Who was Word made flesh
Who celebrated life, showing us the way
I light this light in the name of our Spirit God The one who was there from the very beginning The one who gives life to all
The one who is with us still
We light three lights for the God of Love, Hope and Life – Love eternal
Hope for all
And life everlasting.
